You Pay too much for Electricity

When a householder signs up for an electricity supplier they usually get a reasonably competitive rate initially which includes a "discount". A "discount" is basically an excuse to increase your rates once the contract expires after 1 or 2 years. Many people never renew their contract and so lose the discount. Those that do renew usually stay with the same supplier for a smaller discount. Savings of several hundreds of euro per year can be made by switching regularly. Price plans are deliberately designed to make it difficult to determine which price plan is best, so people usually just stay put.
